While visiting LAFA (Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts), we had the oportunity to collaborate with some of the students there to hold a gallery show. We were given a total of 4 days to conceptualize an idea and execute it. The theme of the show was 'Everything is not as it Seems'. My two partners and I decided to make a piece commenting on the testing of beauty products on animals with our title being Sensitive Skin.
The second show we had in during our Travel Study to China was held in the District 798 in Beijing. We were expected to construct our pieces while 'on the road', but were given a full day in Beijing to finish up. Originally I had been illustrating digitally, but we only had one tablet to share and other students needed to use it, so I used the entirety of our full work day to completely restart and finish the piece traditionally. The show had a Chinese title that has a similar meaning to harmony. The theme was based on our perspectives of the Chinese culture compared to our own. My piece, Duet, follows a girl from America and a girl from China as they live out a typical day.
